Object Store

The OneVantage™ Object Store provides a highly scalable and reliable permanent object vault for publishing and storing digital content which can be served by the CDN. It is a cloud-based replicated HTTP object store used to persistently store media content for content origination within a CDN. It supports file ingest from content management systems via multiple ingest protocols and originates that content for both linear and VOD applications. In essence, Object Store provides the root of the CDN hierarchy and serves cache misses from multiple CDN tiers downstream. Based on standard HTTP delivery, it offers a scale-out architecture for redundancy and storage expansion in which several nodes are interconnected to form a common storage cluster with a single virtualized namespace. Scale-out Storage
Object Store can scale to billions of files and petabytes of storage. It runs on clustered commodity servers incorporating the latest hardware technology. Disks and nodes can be easily added to accommodate growing storage needs without service disruption. With the addition of each node comes additional I/O bandwidth and transaction processing capacity so growth is linear. As the storage grows so does ingest and delivery capacity.

Resiliency and High-Performance
Object Store is designed to provide multiple levels of redundancy, employing both mirroring and automatic failover to achieve high levels of fault tolerance. At the same time, Object Store leverages the same scalability techniques employed by HyperCache to achieve high performance in delivering that content to end-users. This provides a unique combination of resiliency and performance.

Full CDN Integration
Independent content providers can upload and manage their own content through separate accounts. Object Store supports a simple back-end interface that is easy to integrate into a content provider's content management workflow. At the same time, the Object Store front-end interface is implemented by the same HyperCache technology deployed throughout the rest of caching hierarchy. This results in a highly optimized interaction between Object Store and the rest of the CDN.
